It was made with penne pasta, andouille sausage, chicken, shrimp, diced tomatoes, scallions, chipotle cream sauce, and Parmigiano Reggiano. My dining partner got the jambalaya, which was a unique take on the classic southern dish. The sweet potato fries were an amazing side. The veggies burger was exceptionally good, tasted fresh, and was truly filling. Pictured: Jambalayaįor our main course, I ordered the veggie burger, which was a house made patty, sunflower seeds, hummus, cucumber, red onion, pickled beets, and sliced avocado served on a brioche bun with sweet potato fries. They also enjoyed their cocktail and thought it was very flavorful and fun. My dining partner got the Bourbon Smash, which was bourbon, bitters, lemon, and mint. It was so delicious! I would absolutely order this drink again it was ideal for the start of the summer season. I ordered the Basil & Blue, which was gin, blueberries, ginger, lemon, and basil. The service was also quick despite the restaurant being quite full both inside and outside on the patio. Both the hostess and our waitress were so kind and friendly. Inside, the restaurant features Americana decor and has a cool motorcycle on display to play into the open road theme of the restaurant. During my visit, I sat inside, but when I return, I’ll definitely be checking out their happy hour on the patio! It’s a large space with plenty of tables to enjoy your meal outside. They are also the creators of the Open Road Grill, a restaurant brand with locations in Rosslyn and Merrifield. They are the same team behind well-known local establishments such as Circa, Salt and Trio Grill. Open Road is the brainchild of the Metropolitan Hospitality Group and its partners, Matthew Carlin and Vince Spinoso. (UPDATED 2-1-22) A new speak-easy style distillery and restaurant has announced it will be opening in the Reston Town Center - and it’s coming from owners who have deep hospitality experience in the region.
